baby, you're a firework(s)

A few weeks ago,
Cheonan (천안) had a cherry blossom festival with fireworks  because they love flowers and loud explosions. Street food, blankets, friends, people watching, synchronized fireworks, music you can tap your fingers to, happy Koreans, being fascinated. I found a corn dog in one of the booths that looked delicious, until they put sugar and cinnamon on it (because everything in Korea requires at least some sugar). For the fireworks, they had a crane extending high into the sky that shot them off and it was to music. This song in particular:

The group is called "Busker Busker" and this is their cherry blossom song. They're a local Cheonan band who went far in some kind of singing contest (the guy in the middle is a foreigner). Because 1 the song is about cherry blossoms and 2 they're from Cheonan... they played the song four times during the fireworks show alone (not including before and after).

And these guys sang to the song:

The fireworks danced to the song:

(the view from dad's shoulders and you can see the crane)

(how cool is the crane!)

Before the fireworks, we staked our claim on a plot of land with blankets and coats and purses.  And after, we watched a drum performance and waiting for the Koreans to leave so we wouldn't be trampled.

Hey, Linds

Safe to say, I was impressed with the fireworks performance. The Koreans have outdone themselves. The night was clear and crisp, we were armed with iced lattes, corn dogs, and blankets, and I decided I could stay here a while longer.

I miss my humans a whole lot, but this is good.
And it keeps getting better.
(I had a video of the fireworks, but for some reason it won't upload. My favorite part of the entire night was a Korean guy who was behind us -  he was "wow"ing and clapping the whole time and it made me so happy that he was enthralled, fascinated, and entertained by these flashes of color. It reminded me to look for happiness and contentment even in the simplest of places.)
